Child snatchers roam free in Pune

Pune: CNN-IBN’s expose of the adoption racket in Pune has shocked its people, but the fact that government officials, child welfare agencies and touts are in cahoots with each other has ensured that everyone gets scot-free.

"Happy Birthday to You": this message put out by adoption agency Preet Mandir in August last year for Maharashtra’s Women and Child Welfare Minister Harshvardhan Patil sums up their relationship.

Preet Mandir and its owner J S Bhasin are accused of selling children to couples and Bhasin was caught on camera by CNN-IBN negotiating a deal....
